Sick but No Less Busy
Checked the Engagement party off the calendar this past weekend and it was so fun! I personally made WAY too much food like 2.5 x’s too much, an obscene amount of parmesan pasta salad. Otherwise, I’d call it a success. Most of all Chase and Leah had a great time and hopefully they will set a date asap.
I picked up a wicked cold somewhere along the way and my little Beck has as well. We are licking our wounds as much as possible given the current situation. Situation being that the power has been 100% off today and Jude is not ill in the least. He wants to play and by play I mean sneak attack Beck and I as we lie limp on the sofa. My mom graciously took him for a few hours today giving us a little r&r. Power is out for a great reason though, our main service is finally being moved inside, it has been on the back porch, OUTSIDE, for decades. I don’t know whose bright idea that was but it’s costing a pretty penny to relocate. Also lots of problems have been noted by our electrician along the way, some that need right now attention and others that need pretty freakin’ soon attention. Bummer, but not at all a surprise.
The backyard project crawls forth for now. I had genuinely hoped to have the privacy fence up before winter but other projects, of a more urgent nature, have inevitably cropped up. We were under contract to sell our old house, that had been a rental property these last three years, and the deal collapsed. Ugh. So my time, energy and funds will need to be channeled there, to get it sold ASAP. Also, on a much more exciting note, I got my first real life interior design gig! It is a pretty major project (especially as a first project) in a different city, I’m giving it a lot of TLC. It is a good sized condo on the seventh floor of a lovely midcentury building. The furniture was just emptied last week and I meet the painter in a couple days to get started. I am at once exhilarated and terrified! Pictures to follow.
